Thank you all for participating in the Big 10 Day at the Racetrack. We're excited to meet you all and enjoy a fun day at the races together. Looks like our party is going to be about 30 strong and the weather forecast is another beautiful SoCal sunny and mid-70's. Here is a basic outline of our day at the track:
Dress Code/Attire - There is no dress code for the infield area where we will be. If you'd like to check out the Turf Club House areas, they do require an additional cost and have additional dress code policies: (www.santaanita.com/the-park/info/dress-code) But for the most part, casual attire is acceptable. I would recommend closed-toed shoes for the paddock tour as we should get pretty close to the horses.
Parking - Please email Alvin for a parking pass for entry into the parking lot at no cost. We recommend that you park through Gate #6 which is closest to the infield.
Tickets - will be left at Infield Will-Call under the "Big 10 Club." Please indicate your name and that you are part of the club and the number of tickets purchased will be provided to you. Proceed the to our designated BTC space in the infield. There will be staff that can point you out in the right direction. Our area will have a picnic-style setup of food and buffet starting at noon.
A reminder of the festivities timeline. All times approximate.
10:30am - 11am - Arrivals
11am - 12pm - Handicapping Lesson - the handicapper will arrive to our designated space and teach us the basics. Make sure to pick up your programs first so you can plan out how you want to bet during the day with his pointers! There should be a voucher with your tickets that you can redeem at any stand that has programs. I'm sure if we're nice to our handicapper, they'll check in with us a few times throughout the day and continue to give us pointers on the upcoming races! Betting starts at only $1 so you don't have to empty the bank account before you arrive...Good luck!
12pm - 12:30pm - Private Group Paddock Tour (prior to first post) - our guide (they may also be our handicapper) will take us to the paddocks to get a closer look at the horses before the first race. There may be some additional betting pointers that may help your odds based on how the horses look before they run.
12pm - 2pm - Lunch Buffet, First Post at 12:30pm
2pm - 4pm - Winner Circle Photo after the 4th race (will be bumped to 5th race if 4th race is a stakes race)
5pm - Last Race
(Schedule is subject to change as the handicapper/guide will try to accommodate as many people as possible for the lesson/tour/photo)
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME REMINDER: We spring forward on the clocks one hour at 2am on Sunday, so please set your clocks and plan accordingly.
